Reunion

HI everyone, Well this has been an interesting week. Right now i am listening to the news talk about the first Hurricane of the season, that will be here soon. Lots of rain.

Halloween was fun we had a great time at school in the morning all the classes had a parade and all the kids looked great in their costumes. The front office went as puzzle pieces. We have an award that is given every week to the person that works at the school that has worked in a team work effort , they call it the piece of the puzzle award, so that is kind of the work motto be a piece of the puzzle.

the paras like the librarian, tech guy , the art teacher all went as super heroes, the Liberian went as perfect man from an old book his cape was really cool all book covers very cool .

I got my sign for my door so i guess i am official it is kind of cool. This weekend the old principal is painting the wall in the clinic the picture the kids voted on , i am so excited about going in tomorrow.

This weekend was fun, i got to see Wanda Ammons. She and I worked at the base pool together, she worked in the locker room giving out baskets, and i was the lifeguard. Then at school she was the cheerleader and i was pep squad. it was really fun seeing her and meeting with her husband Richard. We started out looking for a Mexican restaurant and ended up eating steak the restaurant had sold out to the steak place. From their we went to a flea market to look for Betty Boop stuff , which we found a lot of.

A really nice day and so nice to see wanda after 35 years.

My grandson Tyler had his operation this week on his ACL, he is doing great and i am glad that part is over, now he is working on the physical therapy part.

We had a shooting on Friday, a guy who was mad at a former boss, decided after two years he was going to get revenge, one person was killed and five others were injured. The killer took off and all of I-4 was shut down while they were trying to catch the guy. He had been in and out of mental institution for the past two years. No i never took care of him not that i can remember. :)

We lost Stryker on Thursday , Stryker was 16 years old and had not been able to walk himself for the last year. Lately he had just looked miserable, and nothing seemed to make him comfortable, so it was time to put him down. Hard day. Snoop his son has been kind of moping around more than usual, i took him with me to Ian's soccer game and that seemed to cheer him up. He is the last of the corgis .

It is getting late so i am going to close this i guess the next time i will post something will be after thanksgiving , so i hope everyone has a nice thanks giving.

Okay someone just found a 6 ft boa constrictor in his engine . wow and there were people who actually went in there and tried to get it out, it weight 10 pounds. Why are people allowed to have these as pets. Now they are saying that big snakes have been showing up in neighborhoods all over Florida. I hope i never find one, i freak out when i see a little one i don't even want to think what i would do if i saw a big snake.

GREETINGS FROM ORLANDO, I hope everyone has had a great week cannot believe that September is almost gone. This weekend Ian and I drove up with gidget to South Carolina to help my dad celebrate his 75Th birthday.

Left right after work on Friday night, rough drive it is about 8 hours to my parents house so i got there around 2 in the morn. Gidget did very well for her first road trip. The drive was pretty uneventful until we got to the last three hours it rained that heavy rain, all the way through South Carolina, i guess it was all that rain that Georgia got.

My brother John drove up from Kansas city, Sister Patty, came with her family from Atlanta Georgia, and my son came from North Carolina with my cute little grandsons. Big news is Henry is now potty trained yeah and before he was 4. yeah again.

It was a nice turn out for my dad, it was nice seeing my nieces and sister Patti and her family. Sunday we got up and had breakfast with the family we still get looks when we go somewhere to eat. There is a lot of us, and we were all not there. I use to get embarrassed by that. We would go into a restaurant, and everyone would look at us like we were some kind of freak show, all those kids. Then of course my brothers had to all have red hair so that was really a sight. I remember we were always so good when we would go out to eat it was such a rare occasion, people would always come up and compliment my parents on how good we were, They did not know about my dad and his finger thunks. :)

Anyway we all had a good time and Ian and i with miss gidget headed back on Sunday after breakfast with the family got home around 8:30 that night, drive back was allot nicer. No rain. Gidget once again was quite the trooper.

today i dragged butt all day , and what am i doing up still, i don't know but i think i will sign off. tomorrow is picture day at the school, and i was told i had to get my picture taken, wonder how i can get out of this.

I am a school nurse :)

i know , i know , i have not been blogging in such a long time. Life has been busy, allot has happened. So last time i was on here,, i was working at the psych place, i liked to refer to it as the hotel :) There is an old saying three hots and a cot. this is referring to a homeless person who wants to rest awhile all they have to do is go to a policeman and say they want to commit suicide. The police haul them over to a psych place where they have 24 hours cause that is how long a doctor has to see them. In the meantime they are getting a shower, three hot meals and a bed to sleep in.

Anyway i am no longer there, i have got a new job as a school nurse and I am loving it. I am at an elementary school grades k-5th grade, So far i am loving it. i am still trying to get things arranged and organized. This was my second week and everyday there is another challenge.

My first day was busy i started right away taking temps, i had so many kids that first day that i did not even have time to sit down. So far i have checked for lice, took care of bloody noses, taken a lot of temperatures. giving out loose tooth necklaces, I have had two fractures and the list goes on.

Last weekend i spent the weekend painting my office, I am working on now is getting a mural painted on the wall. i am almost organized have to get my forms in order Right now i am working on getting donations for stuff like underpants , socks and some used clothing i have had three accidents since i have been working, like u know wetting of the pants and so i have been lucky in the fact that i had something for them to wear but this Friday i was not so lucky so i had to go out to Kmart real quick and pick up something everything up. I am going to ask the parents to send in a package of new underpants in their kids size , or socks or any gently used clothing they may have and so hopefully i will have all the sizes covered.

tonight i made some ( i know i am sewing again) ice pack covers, i hated sending kids back to class with a plastic baggy of ice this way they will have something cool to take back to class with ice in it. I have tons of material and so tonight i made like five of them they are cute,

Yes i am sewing again i finally got my sewing room back together, although i still have to paint and make some minor adjustments but other than that, it is clean and organized and ready for me to get sewing .

Next weekend i am going up to Sumter South Carolina to see my family my dad turns 75 i know wow. So Ian and i are heading up and meeting my son Jeremy and his crew there.

I have not been to any of the parks or done anything like that for awhile now. I am so busy with my job and then the last couple of weekends have been taken up with getting things cleaned up around the house and all. Still cleaning out boxes today i cleaned out two more. i know , i know what can i say other than i am taking things slow. ;0

summmer is going by fast

Greetings everyone from Central Florida ,

Things here have been comfy. The weather has not been too hot or humid we have showers here and there , life is comfy right now.

I have been working allot, wish i like , the natives were restless while i was there, learned how to give a good shot in the butt.
Did not have any complaints so i guess i did okay. In fact one client said i gave a pretty good shot. :) i wonder if they would take that as a recommendation on my next resume. :)

Today we ventured out to Downtown Disney , it was Wednesday and it is usually a slow day for them. Well okay slow for Downtown Disney.

They have added some new stuff since we had been there, they now have T-Shirts you can make yourself which is kind of neat. Ian made himself one, they gave you this neat little bag to put it in. It was neat.

I always make a quick once over to the chocolate place gimarlidies, they gave out a free square of chocolate when you walk through there store. I always go through there to keep me for going to the other side and buying some real heavy chocolate. :)

They also had this neat artist there Peter Gunn, he had some really nice prints i got two of them for my bathroom downstairs. Maybe this means i am getting better i am finally wanting to fix up the house i don't know. it is a good sign though.

My little gidget had the surgery to have her fixed, Yes she was spayed. She took it like a little champ i have not had to put that collar on her not once to stop her from licking herself , which is a good thing because the collar was too big for her.

She is going through that i am all legs stage i remember when Taz went through this. now he is this beautiful dog coming into his own he has a beautiful white Irish collar that is what they call the mane around his head. i just wish he would not be so skirmish about going on the grass when it is wet. if not for that the dog would be perfect. :)

I cannot believe the summer is halfway over, it has gone by so fast. My Son Matthew turned 27 yesterday, gosh he was my baby for so long. all my Friends who are having babies, right now, and i just keep telling them enjoy them now they grow up so fast. it seems like forever when you are not getting any sleep and they are driving you crazy but then before you know it they are gone and all grown up. You know there is a song out there that i just have always loved there is a line that says turn around your a baby , turn around your a young girl, turn around. I mean that is how it is you just turn around and they are all grown up..

Last week I was sick so sick i actually went to the doctor, which means i must have been sick. Anyway after calling off the second time from work and coughing all night for like a week i thought it was time, that i just felt like shit.

So i go to this centra care and the first thing they ask me is why are you here, i said well i have this cough, okay everything just stopped there and i was handed a mask that actually looked like a duck beak. from there on i felt like i had some awful disease, Plus felt foolish in this duck beak mask, I just knew i was dying , everyone stayed like 50 feet away from me, even the doctor. He got close enough just to listen to my chest. He then backs up real far away again and said you have a upper respiratory infection, wrote my prescriptions asked me is there anything else i needed no just a note for work okay. The nurse comes in and she is still standing far away and throws me the note and prescriptions , i mean they just could not wait to get me out of there..

I am thinking all the way home gee i hope i am not dying. :) I called one of my nurse friends and told here what happened after a good laugh she said Vicki welcome to the world of Swine flu everyone is scared to death of it. BTW i don't have swine flu just had a lot of the same symptoms. I would not have even brought it up except it was just so funny the way they treated me. And scary for me. and i could see someone thinking Wow i am a goner. :)

I will be happy to report after some good drugs i am feeling better still have the cough but it is not as bad and it is slowly going away. So my life is slowly getting back to normal , although it will take time to get over the duck mask thing. :)

my babies

I have some pictures of my cute babies, Taz and Gidget. Taz is Ian's dog and Gidget is mine. They are toy aussies. Taz is 6 months almost 7 he was born NOV 18, 2008 Gidget is a cutie and she is mine all mine. She was born February 21, 2009. I feel like she was meant to be, because she was offered to me once because a family turned her down because she did not have blue eyes. At the time i did not think i could handle two puppies. Then she found another home. Well things went bad come to find out here eyes or the one the iris did not completely finish fusing together so that causes her pupil not to work good. So i lost Fergie like the first week in April and was looking at the web site that I had gotten Taz from and saw this cute little puppy that was for sale as a pet only. I called Michele the breeder and she said Vicki she is available and i said without even thinking about it yes. Then come to find out she was the puppy that was offered to me a long time ago. She is so good, she goes to the bathroom outside, she loves to go for walks and she is such a lover. Loves to cuddle. She is a beautiful Harlequin Red Merle. which means she has every shade for Red in her coat from light to dark. I want to do agility with her, and so she almost knows this she loves to run around the pool and jump she is going to be perfect. Taz on the other hand is lazy very lazy, Good thing he looks so good. Wherever i go people are always asking what kind of dogs are they? and what beautiful dogs they are. Gidget has been the medicine i have needed. I have been so down since moving to Florida , I don't know leaving a place that i had lived for 11 years was hard. I had never lived anywhere that long before, I just had a lot of major life changing events. i know quit whining.

this last weekend I put a bike for myself on layaway , and i am ordering a basket so I can take my gidget with me when i ride my bike. It is a cool bike i got it on sale. It is an electra i have been looking at these for quite sometime they have what they call the flat foot start. YOU are flat footed when you start the bike the pedals are slightly in front of us so instead of your feet going up and down they go out, so you work your whole leg. I know working those big muscles in the back of the leg that help you to have a nice ass. Speaking of ass. You do not get a sore one when you are riding the seat is not and comfy.

The last couple of weeks i have been driving the van around UGH due to my mother n law being here. So it is just a Chrysler van like a thousand others even has the color everyone has that teal blue, Anyway i have not got the assimilation done on it yet, I have the hardest time finding it in a parking lot. The other day i walked up to this Van thinking it was mine opened up the door thinking this is weird i thought i locked the door almost got in the seat when it dawned on me this is not my Van, okay so I shut the door real quick and look around making sure no one saw my blunder and found my Van the next parking space over. Then today after spending all day at the mall i went to go and get my Van and could not for the life of me remember where i had parked it , finally found it about 10 minutes after walking around the parking lot . I want my Truck back. hope you all have a nice weekend can you believe it that July 4 Th will be here in two weeks, Wow summer is going fast. the week so far

This has been a busy week. My oldest son and his family came up on Friday night and Jeremy left by himself on Sunday to enjoy a week of peace and quiet.

Lara and the boys stayed here, Sunday we went to EPCOT to celebrate Ron's birthday. It was a hot day we did get lucky however and did not get rained on.

We went to the Japanese restaurant there to celebrate Ron's birthday. The kids had fun watching the chef cook our meal.

Then Lara and the boys and I went around to all the different Countries. Epcot has this neat thing called kidcot. These are booths at the different countries where the kids go around collecting charms from the different countries on a mask that they decorate or not. on the stick that holds the mask each country puts there stamp on that stick. Example china the charm is a kite, and the stamp is whatever sign you are in the Chinese horoscope. i found out that my grandson Jackie and i are not only Tauruses together, we also share the sign of the monkey. In china they also put their names in Chinese on the back of their mask.

I know so neat.

After EPCOT, on Sunday, we had Monday to look forward too. Lara and the younger boys were going to Melbourne to visit with friends. Charlie stayed here with me to go to day camp with his uncle Ian.

So Monday was busy , Ian had guitar lessons in the morning. In the afternoon we drove to Sanford to the central Florida zoo to go to camp there, and that is pretty much how my week has been. Lots of time in the car. I cannot wait until Friday to go to work so that i can rest up :)

Today Miss Gidget and Mr. Taz went to doggy day care, while there , Gidget got the last of her shots. The Vet put on here paper in big letters VERY CUTE PUPPY. Cannot agree more. They were so cute and good on the way home i thought that i would take a picture of them. They are so good about posing for me. they are such hams.


This morning i got up anticipating the launch of the space shuttle, but once again the mission was scrubbed, i figured last night after all the thunderstorms it was not going to happen, so now i have to wait until July to watch the shuttle go up.

I am looking forward to the weekend i work on Friday and Saturday and have Sunday off, Jeremy is coming back on Friday and Lara and the kids are all coming back as well. So i will have a house full again that is okay it will be fun. then it will get quiet again on Sunday that is when they all leave. I want to wish all you Dad's out there Happy Father's day. Hope it is a good one.

I know it has been awhile

Greetings From Florida,

I know i have not written anything in awhile. I really have not done anything exciting. At least nothing i can talk about. My job at the psych place is always interesting. Never a dull moment. the ones from corrections i think are the saddest. Because psych problem is what probably got them in jail to begin with.

When they are with us they can be themselves and not have to worry about being harassed or anything like that for awhile. They are the best behaved of all the patients they do not demand anything they take their meds for the most part and just genuinely really Thankful to be here.

They said in orientation when a man is getting raped in prison the guards do not do anything as long as they hear screaming when that stops that is when they step in. This really bothered me still does. I guess the guards do so much and then they let other prisoners take care of the rest of the discipline.

The guy who is sitting on death row for killing my brother, spent like a year in prison before he was let out on early parole , when he got caught with a underage girl he broke his parole but he also knew he would be going in as a child molester. So the prisoners in their own world do not put up with this , i am thinking this guy who killed my brother saw what they did with child molesters or maybe he had it done himself i don't know , he just saw the writing on the wall and needed protection so he killed himself a cop my brother.

During the trial i kept looking at this guy thinking he looks allot like my brother, everyone thought i was crazy, maybe. Or maybe it was just God's way to help me forgive him i don't know.

they say that i will know when they bring in a patient who has been raped he has no soul in his eyes. there is just a dark stare, They had a guy who had been raped who lay ed in the fetal position for 2 days and then slowly came out of the place where he was.

I know Vicki quit being so depressing. Sorry, Yesterday i went and interviewed for a position at the state correction center here. I don't know if i got the job or not they said that they would recommend me for the job whatever that means.

I think it will be a good experience because i will get clinical experience, which is all good. the prison sits right next to a winery, they lands surrounding the prison are very peaceful and beautiful . I saw a couple of Heron grazing there. Then you have the winery's orchard surrounding it.

I guess i will know soon if i got it or not.

In the meantime on to lighter subjects, My puppy Gidget is now four pounds she is getting big and just as sweet as ever. Taz is up to 15 pounds. he is still stubborn but he is beautiful.

the weather has been typical Florida weather for this time of the year. We have had thunder showers like every afternoon, it keeps things green and we need the water.

Ian is out of school he was supposed to be in pottery camp this week but they did not get enough kids so Ian is home this week with me. Next week he starts his guitar lessons.

Yes I got suckered into that. When i bought him the guitar he said " thank you mom this is what i always wanted this is my lifelong dream." Yeah i heard that one before. Seriously though i do hope he likes it and does good in this.
