Last night Ian and I went to a puppy party put on by our Vet. All these people showed up with their cute little puppies. The rules were no puppies 6 months older were allowed. There were some cuties. There were 4 Golden's from 8 weeks that was Lola, to 6 months. Then we had the labs one black, one chocolate and one yellow they were all young like 8 weeks old. the black pug, little chuiauia, a very scared Siberian husky with beautiful blue eyes same coloring as my Dad's dog George had. There was a standard Aussie who was 8 weeks old and bigger than our little Taz at 4 months. there were also the specialty dogs the morkies, golden doodles, and multi poo.
The lady who owned Lola the cute little golden had here decked out all in Pink you know pink collar and she just kept saying how smart little Lola was how she could sit and stay and do all that and she is only 8 weeks old.
So everyone came in with the cute little bundle of joy and looked at others trying to guess what they were and how cute each was and how old they were, and what they liked to do and the issues they were having. If you did not know better you would have thought that you were in a preschool class on the first day of school.
After a brief discussion we were allowed to let them off their hooks which they all had been dying to do and start playing, Taz went immedetly to Lola he had been eyeing here since we got in there. So all the dogs were playing we had some shy ones. One of the shy ones was the Siberian husky he was very shy. You know how they say kids learn from their parents that must hold for dogs too. The owner of this dog and her kids all walked around like scared little mice's around a bunch of mean hungry cats , rather than people around a bunch of cute little puppies.
when we broke into smaller groups the husky was the biggest dog in our group and yet he was the scaredest, he just sat in his owners lab while they all sat there and watched the other puppies have a blast with each other. Her kids would yell at the other dogs when they were playing and say stuff like don't do that. I finally had enough because they were defeating the whole purpose of this wonderful get together and said the kids are not supposed to talk just watch them play.
Taz was the star he was pointed out a couple of time by the Vet as being a good player , a puppy who knew how to play well. The husky never did get out of his owners arms and play.
The other little interesting fellow was the black lab he was the heaviest of the group you knew this when you try to ease him back into the circle and he was a chunk to push back in.
He was also the meanest , he was the only meanie he was actually the bully. he kind of looked like his owners, they were chunks themselves and kind of just watching as their dog bullied one dog after another of course that is what we were supposed to do. We were not allowed to correct that was the job of the Vets and their helpers, we were just there as observers.
this little black bully seemed to know when they were not looking because that was when he went for it.
He got Lola once and i thought her owner was going to have a coronary, the bully then went after a pug and got into trouble for that one had to go to time out then he went after taz and two others and that is when Lola's mom said that is one , two ,and three this dog is out.
The owners go gee he was so shy before what happened. This was also when the Vets called it time to quit . We all picked up our puppies and protected them from the big bully. It was kind of funny. How much is this like we do with our children it was a very interesting observation.
Taz had a great time came home really worn out, He slept really good last night, and we came home with a new appreciation and how good our little Taz is.
