The Space Shuttle

Last night the shuttle Discovery went up for the last time ever.  We almost missed it, if Ian had not seen the news ticker saying it was taken off we would have missed it completely.

This is one of the neat things about living here, i loved watching the shuttle going up when we lived here before.  I could watch the whole thing from my backyard.  It was always spectacular especially the night launches.

Last November we drove to Titisvill and watched the space shuttle go off, it was a night launch it was absolutely beautiful , the moon was full and the sky was beautiful the weather was beautiful .

Everyone was gathering around to watch this launch , it was kind of neat because we were all getting together for a common bond , a couple who sat next to us had driven all the way from Tallahassee. to watch this launch.

I remember when John Glenn went up, when the first guys walked on the moon, my brother Kevin was born when one of  shuttles went up.   I still get goose bumps whenever i see one of those rockets go up.

This will be the last shuttle to go up for at least three years, they are retiring the Discovery program and working on a new shuttle program Orion it is called.

Last night was kind of bittersweet , this was the last time in a long while that we would see a Rocket go up.   It was a beautiful site watching the shuttle go up as the sun was coming down.   It just seemed fitting that Discovery had a beautiful last launch.

Hope you are living your dream.
